Oppidum
The Heidenstadt is a Celtic oppidum dating from La Tene finale, established on the mountain of the same name, between the communes of Ernolsheim-lès-Saverne and Saint-Jean-Saverne, in the Lower Rhine. At the time of its construction, the site has an important strategic value, allowing the control of the Platenweg, one of the routes through the Vosges.
