Notre-Dame-de-la-Sède de Tarbes Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in the city centre of Tarbes (canton of Tarbes 3) in the Hautes-Pyrénées department of France. The word "sede" comes from the Latin sede which means throne. The Sedes Sapientia (the throne of wisdom) is Mary who is represented with Jesus (the wisdom) she holds on her knees. Hence the name of the cathedral - Our Lady of the Sed - consecrated to Mary, throne of wisdom.
