Situation and access: The lock is located on the right bank upstream of the mouth of Gravelle Arm in the Marne. Passerelle de l'écluse de Saint-Maurice

History of its construction: The course of the Marne between the confluence with the Seine and the Saint-Maur Canal was very irregular and had a depth of less than 1 metre in summer. The river was therefore difficult to navigate, which prompted the construction of the Saint-Maurice Canal. The creation of the Bonneuil port opened in 1917 required the creation in 1910 of a lock dam to open this section to navigation. This lock was rebuilt and automated in 1997 with a fish pass and a pedestrian bridge.
