About

Uvea Museum Association is a private museum on the island of Wallis, in the French overseas territory of Wallis and Futuna. Located in the Mata Utu shopping centre, it tells the history of Wallis-et-Futuna during the Second World War. Visits are only by appointment.

The museum was founded by Eric Pambrun and Christophe Laurent in 2006. Its collection includes objects that reflect Wallis' history during the Second World War. The collection includes the first 16 mm film shot on the island, which recorded a Faka Niutao dance in 1943.

Several items from the collection were donated by American veterans who served in Wallis. The museum lent items from its collection to other institutions: a 1942 bottle of Coca-Cola abandoned by American troops during their occupation of the island was lent to the Musée du Vivant-AgroParisTech.
