About

The Himalayan bridge of the Croix de Chamrousse is a suspension bridge from France in Chamrousse, Isère.

Passerelle himalayenne de la Croix de Chamrousse

Geography: The bridge connects the Croix de Chamrousse to Casse Rousse, two peaks of the Belledonne chain above Grenoble, crossing the corridor of Casse Rousse taken by a hiking trail and a black ski trail in winter. La Croix de Chamrousse is the top of the ski area of Chamrousse's winter sports resort. Accessible by several ski lifts including a cable car operating in winter and summer periods, this mountain represents a local point of interest with orientation tables, a sommital cross, a restaurant and telecommunications antennas. The Himalayan bridge as well as a zipline of nearly 2 kilometres in length planned for 2023 are part of a plan of tourist improvement of this summit. The 120- to 130-metre-long and 1.5-metre-wide steel bridge will make it easy to reach the top of Casse Rousse, where a lookout is planned.
