About

History: The building was built in 1675 to replace the old church with crypt of the Priory of Saint Nizier. It houses two paintings dating from 1757 representing the two patrons, Saint-Nizier and Saint-Denis. The chapel is partially listed as historical monuments due to the presence of painted decorations on 19 March 1991.

This chapel is the former parish church of the village of Saint-Nizier. It has a rectangular nave and a square bell tower located in the right part of the nave. Its door on the façade is surmounted by an oculus. The interior of the building features a rustic Baroque décor and is furnished with stucco furniture painted in false marble. The visitor can also discover the presence of a linden of Sully, located on the courtyard of the chapel. The tree has undergone a short size, which shows its trunk and branches. According to an amateur of this type of tree the girth of the trunk, measured at 1.30 height, is 5.60 meters for a total height greater than 10 meters.
