Church building
église Saint-Pierre de Clermont
Saint-Pierre de Clermont Church, now demolished, was located on the southern part of the present Saint-Pierre Square in Clermont-Ferrand. Its origin dates back to the very beginning of Christianity in Clermont and it would even have served as a cathedral in the 10th century. She was called and patron saint Peter.
Blaise Pascal was baptized there in 1623. The only vestige of this building is a lintel representing the washing of the feet, which is now embedded in a facade at the corner of the street and the Place des Gras, facing the cathedral.
