About

Saint-Michel Church is a modern concrete building in the reconstructed city centre of Le Havre, France. Completed in 1964 and consecrated on April 25, 1965 by Cardinal Martin, Archbishop of Rouen, this work by architect Henri Colboc replaces a first church in Le Havre dating from 1661, it will be redesigned around 1880, with the construction of a neo-Byzantine style bell tower to replace a smaller one before. It will be destroyed by the allied bombardment that ravaged downtown Le Havre on September 5, 1944.

The church has a separate bell tower 47 meters high; its stained glass windows are the work of the Boutzen workshop. The church is present in the general inventory of cultural heritage.
