About

The Gallo-Roman theatre of Saint-André-sur-Cailly is a Roman theatre dating from the 2nd century, located in the commune of Saint-André-sur-Cailly, bordering Cailly, in the French department of the Seine-Maritime, in the Normandy region. Identified in the first quarter of the 19th century, the building was the subject of a start of excavations in 1870 by Abbé Jean-Benoît Cochet. The building, with its imposing dimensions (79 meters by 46), remains largely unexplored to date. The circular elevation of the theatre is clearly visible from Bout-Levet Street.
