About

Space Mountain (lit. "Space Mountain") is a roller coaster attraction in Disneyland Park, Disneyland Paris. Designed by the Walt Disney Imaginering teams, it is at its opening in 1995, an adaptation of the Space Mountain attraction into the theme of the novels From the Earth to the Moon and Around Jules Verne's Moon.

Considered a masterpiece thanks to its technology for synchronizing audio embedded in trains on the route, it is also criticized for its lack of ambition compared to what is done in other Disney parks. Until shortly before its opening to the public, it bears the name Discovery Mountain, which is inherited from the abandoned Discovery Mountain Complex project, which was to host a restaurant and several attractions in a volcano-shaped building. Space Mountain: From the Earth to the Moon, located in the heart of Discoveryland, is inaugurated on May 31, 1995, in the presence of many personalities, including astronaut Buzz Aldrin, and opens to the public the next day.

In order to modernize its aging effects, it closes on 15 January 2005 and changes its theme, it reopens a few months more...
