Britzgyberg oppidum

The oppidum of the Britzgyberg is a Celtic oppidum located in Illfurth, in the French department of Haut-Rhin, Alsace. Contemporary of the tumulus (swordfalls) of Rixheim and Sausheim and the tomb of Attila (or tertre de Lisbuhl) of Neuweg (Saint-Louis (High Rhine)), when the construction of monumental works and the holding of objects imported from the Mediterranean world were signs of power and wealth, it is with the fortified site of Kastelberg one of the few examples of strong place of the Iron Age found in the department.
