viaduc de Pont-Salomon
The viaduct of Pont-Salomon is a double viaduct located in the commune of Pont-Salomon in the Haute-Loire department of France. It provides the crossing of the Semène valley via the National Road 88 (the Lyon-Toulouse axis). The structure consists of two viaducts of 505 and 500 m of independent length and contiguous.
The first viaduct was delivered to traffic in 1979 in order to avoid the winding crossing of Pont-Salomon. The second was inaugurated in 2000 in order to accompany the doubling of the roadway (crossing to 2 × 2 lanes). They are made of prestressed concrete panels and their maximum height is 50 m.
