About

The Stadium, formerly known as Stadium Nord or Stadium Lille Métropole, is a stadium of athletics, rugby to XV and football of Villeneuve-d'Ascq (North). The matches of Lille Metropole rugby club Villeneuvois en Élite 1 and Olympique marcquois rugby and major athletic meetings take place there. It is part of a sports complex originally called Lille-Est Olympic Centre, which spans five hectares and includes in addition to the stadium three grassed fields and a synthetic terrain, numerous premises including a treatment room and a fitness room.

These characteristics enabled him to accommodate part of the LOSC training centre until the assembly at the Luchin estate in Camphin-en-Pévèle. Originally intended for athletics, and incidentally for collective sports, it was designed by architect Roger Taillibert, also architect of the Parc des Princes and the Montreal Olympic Stadium. It was occupied from 2004 to 2012 by the LOSC, waiting for the construction of its new stadium, the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, nearby.
