château de Châteauneuf
Châteauneuf Castle is a 12th century castle in the French commune of Châteauneuf, in the Côte-d'Or department, in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. It is a fortress, typical of the Burgundian military architecture of the 15th century, which keeps the southern end of the Auxois. The fortress is 75 m long and 35 m wide, and is built on a rocky spur located at 475 m above sea level.
It dominates the valley of the Burgundy Canal and is located 43 km from Dijon, near Pouilly-en-Auxois and the A6 motorway. The Region, owner of the castle since 2008, ensures its restoration and animation.
