Notre Dame Church is a parish Catholic church located in Saint-Clair-sur-Epte, France. Built on a 9th century Carolingian shrine, his choir with apse in cul-de-four is the main Romanesque choir of the late 11th century preserved in Val-d'Oise. The decoration of the three bedside windows and the plated arches that enhance the base are quite remarkable, and the low profile of the intermediate double arches is unusual.
The transept is only partially Romanesque and the entrance to the ancient northern apsidiole is still visible. The central bell tower that rises above the cross of the transept also dates back to the end of the 11th century, but its unsearched architecture does not reach the level of most other Romanesque bell towers in and around the French Vexin. However, it is distinguished by its 16th century frame arrow with an unusual silhouette.
The Romanesque nave was rebuilt in the primitive Gothic style after the middle of the 12th century, but the facade with its two Romanesque portals that overlap (of which the largest cloche) remains from the Romanesque period. The high nave wall with four decorated windows...
