Saint-Josse Church is a parish Catholic church located in Parnes, Oise, France. Its construction from 1089 onwards was motivated by the appeal of the relics of Saint Josse exercised on pilgrims. The church that had preceded him was dedicated to Saint Martin, but this first word fell into oblivion.
The Saint-Josse church, which is generous in size compared to the size of the village, is a very complex building, and its present form is only the result of successive changes. This does not prevent careful construction and undeniable architectural qualities. The church gathers parts marked by the various stages of evolution of Gothic architecture, and has a flamboyant portal of great sculptural richness.
On the other hand, the Romanesque apse built around the year 1100 with its nerve cul-de-four and its decorative archatures is equally of great archaeological interest. The lower parts of the bell tower and the belfry floor date back to the same time. The building was restored in the 1860s-1870s and has been listed as a historic monument since 1913.
