Château d'Hauterive is a castle located in the commune of Issoire in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the Auvergne region.
Description: The castle overlooks Issoire. On the courtyard side there is a bread oven, the press room, a wine cellar, and a cooler. On the garden side, there is a terraced vegetable garden surrounded by boxwood, a flower garden and a gourmet garden lined with 7 ha of groves, sheltering cabinets and room of greenery, mail, ha-ha, quince and charmille paths.
History: It was in the seventeenth century that this pleasure house was built on the heights of Issoire. The chapel bell bears the date of 1653. A document dating from the mid-18th century mentions the whole as follows:
" Adjacent to the castle, a grove planted in alleys and a beautiful garden garden on the terrace... there are all the amenities that can make the stay of the countryside enjoyable regardless of the usefulness in one of the most beautiful countries of the Limagne of Auvergne..." François Lecourt (1725-1796), President of the Court of Aids of Clermont-Ferrand, bought the land of Hauterive on 26 March 1761; He takes the name.
