About

The Château de Bouchony is located on the Île de la Barthelasse in Avignon, in the department of Vaucluse.

History: The estate was built in the 18th century. He belonged to the Tron family, then to the Brunet de la Renoudière, and finally to the Anselme de Puisaye, these three families having kinship ties. At the end of the 18th century, an English woman, the Countess of Carliste, came to Avignon to rent this estate for the beautiful season. She was the "mother of the king of Ireland of the same name and the sister of Admiral Biron," says Esprit Calvet who courted her assiduously. The monument is listed in the Historic Monuments by order of 13 January 1997.
