chapelle Saint-Médard-Lagarénie d'Issepts
The chapel Saint-Médard-Lagarénie d'Issepts is a Catholic chapel located at the place of Lagarénie, on the territory of the commune of Issepts, in the Lot department, France. 11th century Romanesque chapel, it is listed as historical monuments.
History: The land of Lagarénie was reportedly given in 982 by Ranulphus, Viscount of Aubusson, to the monastery of Notre-Dame-des-Artels de Fons, which he had founded dependent on the abbey of Saint-Sauveur de Figeac. A first would have been built in the third quarter of the 11th century. It would have had a transept whose arms would have been destroyed during the broader complete reconstruction of the nave in the late 11th century. The nave is then covered with a ceiling. The church was part of a priory in the 12th century. The facade was modified in the 18th century, which was then decorated with two pilasters and finished in gable to degrees which formed a bell tower-wall. The portal dates back to 1833. The nave was vaulted in the middle of the hanger with briquettes in 1830. Restoration work was carried out in 2003. The building was listed as historic monuments on May 22, 1978.
