musée de l'illustration jeunesse
The Museum of Youth Illustration, known as MIJ, located in Moulins, was created in 2005 by the General Council of Allier. It brings together a collection of original graphic works ranging from the 19th century to today. It also has a library and documentation centre with album holdings (11,500 references at the end of 2019).
Entirely dedicated to the art of children's image, it is one of the few places in Europe where youth images are preserved and exhibited. The mission of this museum is to enrich and preserve a collection of original illustrations and to enhance and disseminate this applied art to the greatest number. The museum has also awarded the Grand Prix of Illustration since 2008.
