musée de l'Hospice Saint-Roch
The Musée de l'Hospice Saint-Roch d'Issoudun is a municipal museum, labeled museum of France, located in Issoudun, Indre. The architectural complex consists of the buildings of the former Hôtel-Dieu, classified historical monuments in 1965, a medicinal plant garden and a contemporary wing. His collections include two Jessé trees, monumental sculptures of the late 15th century, in the chapel of the hospice, an apothecary of the 17th and 18th centuries, a set of surgical instruments.
A wing is dedicated to contemporary works, including the donations of Fred Deux and Cécile Reims. It hosts exhibitions by contemporary artists such as Gérard Garouste, Jan Voss, Pierre Wemaëre and others, and it houses the reconstruction of an art nouveau style salon, assembled by Leonor Fini. This wing also presents Papua New Guinea's ethnographic collections of the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Issoudun.
