roc de Marsal
The Roc de Marsal is a prehistoric site of the Middle Paleolithic, located in the Dordogne countryside (France). This rock shelter delivered in 1961 the fossil remains of a Neanderthal child, during excavations conducted by Jean Ladaughter, an amateur archaeologist. This site has been protected for historical monuments since 1989.
