The cave of the Pope, located in the municipality of Brassempouy, in Chalosse, in the French department of Landes, is an archaeological cave dating from the Upper Paleolithic. It owes its reputation to the numerous and exceptional ivory objects found at the entrance of the cavity: diadems, cap of otters, pendants, Paleolithic Venus of which La Poire was discovered in 1892 and the famous Lady of Brassempouy discovered in 1894.
