Chapelle du Chêne

The Chêne Chapel is a Catholic shrine and Marian pilgrimage site, located in the commune of Saint-Martin-de-Connée, Mayenne, whose first chapel built in the 17th century gave way to the larger chapel, which was built in the late 19th century. The Virgin Mary is venerated under her title of Our Lady of Pains, because of the miraculous statuette placed in the oak, now dried up, which represents Mary holding the body of Jesus descended from the Cross.
