église Saint-Arbogast de Strasbourg
The Saint-Arbogast church is located on Rue des Mérovingiens in the Montagne Verte district of Strasbourg. Built in 1910, its originality comes from its half-timbers. It was located on the glacis of the rampart of Strasbourg, an area which remained unobstructed for the defence, and where the only authorized buildings had to be light and easy to destroy if necessary: this was the case in 1914, when the French army descended the valley of the Bruche; The priest was warned that the church might be shaved.
The fort of Mutzig stopped the French offensive and the church was spared. The church was listed as historical monuments in 2022.
