Strasbourg Train Station Water Castle is a historic monument located near Strasbourg Central Station. Left behind after losing his original function, he was rehabilitated and hosts a museum dedicated to voodoo since January 2014.

Location: This building is located at 4 rue de Koenigshoffen in Strasbourg. It is adjacent to the locomotive depot located west of the central station.

History: The water tower was built in 1878 by the then German administration as part of the construction of the new Strasbourg station. It supplied water to steam locomotives in the nearby depot. The building has been listed as historic monuments since 1984. The Vaudou Museum was established in January 2014. The latter is renamed "Château Vodou", with reference to the building that houses it, in 2015.

Architecture: This neo-Roman-style building is the work of Berlin architect Johann Eduard Jacobsthal. He is also the author of Berlin's urban railway, the former Metz railway station. The water castle is one of the first constructions started following the annexation of Alsace-Lorraine. The whole...
