About

The Basilica Saint-Michel-des-Lions is one of the main churches of Limoges, a city in the French department of Haute-Vienne in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. It owes its name to the four statues of lions found there. Two keep its entrance, another keep the interior of the church and finally, the last, is on the Presidual Square, observing the church.

By a brief apostolic letter from Pope Francis dated February 2, 2023, the church was erected as a minor basilica, the only one in the Limousin region, and the 175th in France. In 2025, the rector of the basilica was Father François Renard.
