The Limousin Aquarium is a public aquarium located in Limoges (Haute-Vienne), opposite the town hall. With 41,000 visitors in 2007[ref. to be confirmed], it is the 5th most visited site in the Haute-Vienne.

The Aquarium of Limousin has received a distinction from the national brand Quality Tourism. Furthermore, the aquarium is recognized as one of the richest public aquariums by its diversity of aquatic animals presented [desired secondary source]. This 600 m2 aquarium, opened in 1993, has forty ponds, three hundred species and about two thousand five hundred animals, from silt to piranha to sturgeon or silt.

Limoges Aquarium is located in a unique architectural setting in France, an ancient underground and vaulted reservoir of the city of Limoges. It was built under Napoleon III to preserve the city from possible cholera epidemics.
