About

The Dapper Museum was a private Parisian museum created in 1986 which defines itself as a "space of arts and cultures for Africa, the Caribbean and their diasporas". Managed by the Dapper Foundation, it closed on 18 June 2017. His name pays tribute to a Dutch humanist of the seventeenth century, Olfert Dapper.

The Dapper Foundation closed the doors of the Dapper Museum on Sunday, June 18, 2017, to evolve and adapt to the current environment and cultural offer[i.e.?], and continue on [not clear] support for the arts of Africa, yesterday and today, but in a different way[of what?]. The Foundation wishes to work where its commitment will now find a real echo[Where?], and in accordance with the wishes of Michel Leveau, its founder, it will[When?] amplify its activities in Senegal and initiate others, elsewhere[That is?], in Africa and the Caribbean.
