About

The Eiffel Bridge or Saint-Jean Bridge is an old railway bridge located on the Garonne in Bordeaux. Built from 1858 to 1860, it was designed by Stanislas de Laroche-Tolay, with Paul Régnauld, Senior Engineer of the Midi Railway Company, Chief of Works of the General Railway Equipment Company, and built by Gustave Eiffel Establishments. Disused since the commissioning of a new railway bridge in 2008, the bridge has been assigned after backup and transformation, to the use of footbridges for pedestrians and cyclists as part of the Euratlantic project.
