An ancient site of Eysses, named Excisum in the Gallo-Roman era, is a place located 1.5 km from the city center of Villeneuve-sur-Lot in Lot-et-Garonne. The most visible excavation area today is 100 meters north of the church Saint-Sernin whose former adjoining buildings were a Benedictine abbey of the 9th century, then around school, then jail.
