History: Built in 1906 under the direction of Behr, water services engineer (Meliorationsamt) seconded to Séletat, taking as a model a water castle built in 1893 in Deventer in the Netherlands to equip the city with running water. This water castle looks like a belfry. Its architecture is inspired by the neo-Roman style. The tower is made of yellow bricks, and its tank made of riveted sheet contains a succession of curved red brick arches topped by a conical roof. Séletat Water Castle was declared a historic monument on July 2, 1992.

Anecdote: This water castle is equipped with a lightning rod. Following the course of the history of Alsace, its tip was surmounted by the imperial eagle of the house of Hohenzollern (German) from 1915 to 1918 and the Gaulish cock from 1918 to 1940.
