Prieuré Sainte-Catherine de Varennes-l'Enfant

The Priory of Sainte-Catherine de Varennes-l'Enfant was founded in 1209. Upon the extinction of the priory, the chapel became seigneurial chapel. The building, with its low western gable, of a disproportionate width, would appear from an era before 1207 if there were no examples of the persistence of the Romanesque style in our region, even beyond that date.
