église Saint-Sulpice de Ballée
The church of Ballée was mentioned in the 11th century as Capella de Balai. During the last quarter of this century, it belonged to lay people; It was served as a simple chapel by a priest, Hardouin, who became a monk at Marmoutier de Tours Abbey. Dedicated to Saint Sulpice, the church of Ballée has retained some of its Romanesque architectures remodeled in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The choir saw its reconstruction in 1735 and then the sanctuary of two lower sides was increased before 1870, the slashed arrow dating back to that time. The church houses stalls (18th century) from the Abbey of Bellebranche, a rather curious bentier in marble of Saint-Berthevin (17th century) and altars dating back to 1694. The inventory took place on Thursday, March 8, 1906.
