église Saint-Michel de Somain
Saint-Michel Church is a Catholic church located in Somain, France. It is dedicated to the archangel Saint Michel, secondary patron saint of France. It is the only one that remains after the demolition in 1983 of the large church of Notre-Dame-des-Orages in the neighborhood of the former pit of Sessevalle and after the decommissioning of the chapel of Sainte-Barbe at the beginning of the 21st century. The statue of Saint Barbe (the patron saint of the miners) which was revered there every 4 December is now at Saint Michael's Church.
