Château de l'Emperi is a fortification located in Salon-de-Provence in the Bouches-du-Rhône department.
History: The Château de l'Emperi is a castle built in the ninth century on the Puech rock that dominates the immense plain of Crau, in Salon-de-Provence. It was the residence of archbishops of Arles and German emperors. This is where he derives his name (Empèri signifying empire in Provençal). With Nostradamus and the historic centre, it has become a symbol of the city, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. This castle has been classified as historic monuments since September 10, 1956, it houses the Museum of the Army, the Museum of Salon and Crau, the Garden of Simples of Nostradamus.
