About

Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption-de-la-Très-Sainte-Vierge is a Catholic parish church dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, located in the French commune of Boigneville and the Essonne department.

History: Dated from the end of the 12th century-early 13th century and the 13th century in its present elevation, the building preserves an 11th century crypt rediscovered in 1677 and then provided with wall paintings. The church was changed in the 15th century. The building was renovated and restored in the 19th century. The building was listed as historic monuments on July 16, 1925, and the crypt has been classified since July 6, 1987.

The painted decoration of the crypt dated the seventeenth century bears the mark of the militantism of the Catholic Reformation.
