Water tower
château d'eau
The former water castle is located in the commune of Moulins, in the French department of Allier, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
Description: The water tower was built in 1758 on the plans of the engineer Leclerc by Joseph Évezard, architect and entrepreneur at Moulins, assisted by Alexander and Joseph Aubépin and Joseph Caris, sculptors, when the city proceeded with the reorganization of its drinking water supply system. It comprises, on the ground floor, three curved bays whose eardrums are equipped with one shell for the middle one and with ice cubes for the other two; on the first floor, three bays with armored allegations, all crowned with a pediment whose decoration is borrowed from the aquatic flora.
History: The building is listed as historical monuments by order of 9 August 1932.
