The former Château d'eau de Bourges is located in the commune of Bourges, in the French department of Cher. It is registered as historical monuments by order of 29 October 1975.
Presentation: This monument is located on the edge of Place Séraucourt. Its construction began in 1865 and was inaugurated on August 18, 1867 by the then mayor Pierre Planchat. It is designed by engineer Paul-Adrien Bourdalouë. His neoclassical dress is designed by the Parisian architect Albert Tissandier while the sculptures are by Jules Dumoutet, artist and archaeologist from Berry.
Architecture: When it was commissioned in 1867, the facility was powered by a collection plant in the Auron Valley. The water tower is 14.70 m high with a diameter of 29 m, or 91.1 m of circumference. In the past, it had a basin framed by a large horse iron staircase that led to a fountain sheltered under a large concave niche.
