The chapel Saint-Sylvain de La Celle is a small religious building located in the commune of La Celle, France.

Generalities: The building is located outside the village of La Celle, away from the road leading from La Celle to Maillant, on the territory of the municipality of La Celle, in the department of Cher, in the region Centre-Val de Loire, in France.

History: The chapel was built from the twelfth century as a Priorial Chapel. The chapel was renovated in the 13th, 15th and 16th centuries. Wall paintings were created between the 15th and 17th centuries. The chapel housed the tomb and relics of Saint Sylvain. These elements were moved to the church of Saint-Blaise de La Celle in 1897, because of the very advanced deterioration of the chapel at that time. The tomb and relics were the object of pilgrimages in the Middle Ages. The chapel is classified as historical monuments by order of 19 October 1891.
