About

Saint-Pierre Church is a church located in the commune of Parçay-sur-Vienne, in Indre-et-Loire. The Romanesque church of Saint Peter was built during the 12th century. The church of Parçay, which was preceded by a priory and an abbey, was the possession of the abbey of Méobecq for five centuries, until 1674.

During the 15th and 16th centuries, and the 17th and 18th centuries, the building was the subject of several works, followed by three restoration campaigns in the second half of the 19th century, the first of which was carried out by the architect Gustave Guérin. The building was classified as a historic monument in 1930. In addition, the Saint-Pierre church has furniture including three objects inscribed on the general inventory of cultural heritage.
