About

The Gallo-Roman shrine of Mazamas (or Masamas), or the Gallo-Roman sanctuary of Chiron according to a more recent toponymy, is a set of two twin temples located in the commune of Saint-Léomer, in the French department of Vienna (New Aquitaine region). The two "classical" temples, within the same enclosure, were built in the 1st century AD. They succeed a fanum built in the previous century.

The site was abandoned in the third century. The occupation resumed in the Middle Ages according to completely different but rather poorly characterized modalities; It is most likely an agricultural habitat. The remains were classified as historical monuments in 1973.
