villa gallo-romaine de Saint-Ulrich
The Gallo-Roman villa of Saint Ulrich is a Gallo-Roman site located in the municipality of Dolving in Moselle, near the ancient city of Pons Saravi today Sarrebourg. The villa, which was searched by a German archaeologist during the annexation of the Moselle following the Frankfurt Treaty, was again the subject of extensive excavations in the second half of the 20th century. It has proved to be the centre of a very important field.
It is "one of the largest villas in Gaul" according to Marcel Lutz. Owned by the Moselle department, the villa is classified as historical monuments by order of 7 September 1988. Site development work was undertaken in the early 2010s but has since been discontinued.
