About

Location: It is located in the French department of Saône-et-Loire, in the commune of Autun, rue Saint-Nicolas, near the lapidary museum.

History: In the 12th century, the chapel of Saint-Nicolas depended on a pilgrim hospital, the Saint-Nicolas Hospital, located in the Marchaux district, located in the northern part of the city of Autun. The oldest known title dates from 1218. The hospital was abolished in 1668. The chapel was owned by Mr. Jovet when the president of the Educational Society, Jacques-Gabriel Bulliot, contacted him to set up a lapidary museum there in 1861, the Lapidary Museum Saint-Nicolas.

Protection: The building was classified as historic monuments on 12 July 1945.
