About

The Gières viaduct is a prestressed concrete bridge located in the municipality of Gières en Isère. It allows the crossing of the D523 and a roundabout. This work was commissioned in November 1967 during the organization of the 1968 Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble.

Its aim is to facilitate access to the Chamrousse station from the south of Grenoble, while avoiding congestion in the city centre. The building was built by the Grands Travaux Alpins company. This company is now part of the Eiffage Group.
