Two forms of refit were built in the port of Bordeaux in the 19th century. A form of refit is a place to accommodate ships for their maintenance or repair at the hull level. In French ports, refit forms have been installed to meet efficiency criteria. Indeed, they are useful when the port has to do some repairs on the boats, especially when it is necessary to scrape the hull or to put paint on the hulls. These repairs are done dry in form to avoid accidents. However, verification tasks may be carried out. When the vessel is dry, staff can check if the propellers are working properly and visit the water intakes.
