Chaumont Museum of Art and History is a museum in the city of Chaumont dedicated to regional archaeology, fine arts (painting and sculpture) and 19th-century gantry. Labelled museum of France, it has been installed since 1965 in the 19-metre dungeon which served as a prison until 1886, and occupies seven of the lower rooms of the former Palace of the Counts of Champagne, which dates from the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries.
