The Basilica Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Chaumont is the main religious building in the city of Chaumont, France. In Gothic style, the Roman Catholic basilica dominates with its two towers the oldest part of the town, located on the northwest edge of the chaumontain plateau. The basilica is classified as historical monuments by the list of 1862.
Starting in 2020, the Mayor of Chaumont, Christine Guillemy assisted by Gérard Bocquillon, assistant mayor responsible for culture and heritage, launched a restoration program, both for the institution and for its cultural treasures such as paintings. The programme will last 10 years with an exceptional amount of EUR 12 million.
