Château Fougas is a 22 ha wine estate located in the municipality of Lansac (Gironde) (30 km north of Bordeaux). The property has been owned since 1976 by Jean-Yves Béchet, from a family of Bordeaux traders.

History of Fougas Castle: The vineyard was established in the 18th century. Fougas then belonged to the priory of Bellegarde. A surveyor's watercolour of this time represents the land of one holding around the castle, as it is today. The girondine stone building was built in 1778. The Château Fougas is quoted from the first editions of the Féret. Since 1982, it has been possible for private individuals to rent vines. Château Fougas is certified in organic farming and biodynamics. This translates into tillage, the regular addition of exclusively organic amendments, the abolition of any use of pesticides for phytosanitary treatments, as well as the use of various biodynamic preparations.[ref. necessary]
