parc de la Villette
Parc de la Villette is a public park located in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, France. It is located on the site of the former slaughterhouses of the Villette, built in 1867 by the decision of Napoleon III and the prefect Haussmann and destroyed in 1974. It covers 55 hectares, 33 of which are green spaces, making it the largest green space in the capital, in front of the Tuileries Garden (25.5 ha), the Buttes-Chaumont Park (25 ha) and the Luxembourg Garden (23 ha). The park was inaugurated in the presence of François Mitterrand on 12 October 1987.
